Malaysia Student Visa Processing: What to Expect

How the process works
Once you accept an offer from a Malaysian university, the institution applies for your Visa Approval Letter (VAL) on your behalf through the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) system. This is the first and most important step, and it typically takes several weeks to process.
From VAL to Student Pass
Once your VAL is approved, you'll use it to obtain a single-entry visa from the nearest Malaysian embassy or consulate. After you arrive in Malaysia on that visa, your university coordinates with immigration to convert it into a Student Pass, usually affixed to your passport within 30 days of arrival.
Documents to have ready
A valid passport with at least 12 months' validity, your offer letter, academic transcripts, passport photos, proof of funds, and a medical screening report are the core documents most applicants need. Requirements vary slightly by university, so your counselor will confirm the exact checklist for your chosen course.
EduGo24 handles document review, EMGS liaison, and embassy appointment guidance for every student we work with, so you're never navigating the paperwork alone.
